Both drivers pronounced dead, one passenger seriously injured in Highway 17 collision

North Bay OPP has released the names of two victims fatally injured as a result of a head-on collision on Highway 17 in East Ferris Township, Thursday morning.

The drivers of the two vehicles, Stephane Terbovc, 27, of Bonfield and Gertrud Boron, 80, also of Bonfield, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in one of the vehicles has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

OPP responded to the collision at 7:12am. The collision occurred on Highway 17, west of Dube Road in the Municipality of East Ferris. A westbound passenger car and an eastbound passenger car collided head-on.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and an officer utilizing the OPP Unmanned Arial System (UAS) assisted with the investigation. The Municipality of East Ferris Volunteer Fire Department and Nipissing Paramedic Services also attended the scene.

Highway 17 was fully re-opened at approximately 11:31am.
