Funding available for employers to hire summer students

The Canada Summer Jobs program provides incentives for employers to provide summer job opportunities for full-time students aged 15 to 30 years old.

Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota says the program helps to strengthen local economies and communities across Canada.

Funding is available for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees. Not-for-profit employers can receive support for up to 100 per cent of the provincial minimum hourly wage as well as employment-related costs. Public-sector employers and small businesses can receive up to 50 per cent of the provincial minimum hourly wage.

Rota adds that the program focuses on our local priorities and he encourages employers to come forward with applications that support and complement a number of national priorities. For details  click here and search for “Nipissing-Timiskaming.”
