First City Council meetings of 2018

North Bay City Council will resume committee and regular meetings following its holiday break.

Tuesday night will mark the first regular committee meeting and first regular meeting of the whole in 2018, as well as the first public meetings in five weeks.

The agenda for the committee meeting includes two items, one for a rezoning application for a Hardy Street property and the other a plan of subdivision application for Frank Court.

A report asking for a quote to replace the roof at Pete Palangio Arena is among the highlights found on the agenda for the regular meeting.

A motion to be brought forward by Councillor George Maroosis supporting a ferrochrome facility bid by the City of Timmins is worth watching as well. It is said that spinoff for the ONTC would be tremendous if the production facility is awarded to Timmins, instead of competitors Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, or Thunder Bay.

By-laws relating to the Dedicated Gas Tax and the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund are agreements entered into with Her Majesty the Queen and allow for the transfer of funds to associated projects.
