North Bay Snowmobile Club’s Shawn Flindall says that there may be a few trails readying to open in the area but most of the fully functional trails are still found north of Kirkland Lake.
He says a tour of local trails has revealed plenty of rocks and dirt patches and some residual flooding from the rain and mild temperatures experienced in the area last week, now causing icy patches on the trails.
Flindall says area trails are in need of two good snow storms to get to where they need to be for snowmobile enthusiasts.
