Tembec workers are on strike. The strike directly and indirectly affects about 17-hundred employees. Unifor wants to address a number of things including not firing workers for a first offence, creating job security, and coming to an agreement that follows patterns established by other companies in the sector. Talks took place at the beginning of this week but things fell through yesterday. The company makes lumber products such as pulp and paper.
