Driver charged after jack-knifed truck closes both lanes of Highway 11

A jack-knifed tractor-trailer closed both southbound lanes of Highway 11 for over an hour Tuesday and the incident has led to a charge for the Etobicoke tractor-trailer driver.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 25-year-old Etobicoke, Ont., man has been charged with Unsafe Move contrary to section 154(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.

Tuesday, at 2:14pm, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Callander.

Both southbound lanes, south of Highway 654 were blocked. One lane reopened at approximately 2:54pm, and at approximately 4:13pm, both lanes were open.
