Crimes of the heart?

While some lovers celebrated Valentine’s Day with flowers and candy, if the police report is any indication, many didn’t.

The North Bay Police Service investigated several domestic complaints on Valentine’s Day, here are two that resulted in charges being laid:

  • A 30-year-old male made a complaint of harassment by his ex-girlfriend. While a statement was being taken by an officer, the female continuously texted and called the victim. The 24-year-old female was arrested for harassment and has been released on a promise to appear and an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
  • A 48-year-old female confronted her 49-year-old ex-boyfriend and assaulted him. The woman’s 29-year-old son witnessed the assault and threatened to kill his mother’s ex-boyfriend. The female has been charged with assault and the son has been charged with uttering threats. Both were released on promises to appear and undertakings to appear in court at a later date.
