Man posed as mid-40s woman to lure underage boy

The North Bay Police Service is seeking additional victims after the investigation and arrest of Darryl Michael Wesley, a 30-year-old former North Bay resident, for internet luring and possession of child pornography.

Between December 26, 2015, and January 10, 2016, police say Wesley posed as a woman in her mid-40s while accessing the dating application Tinder to communicate with a teenage boy on the internet. Wesley communicated online with the teen using the pseudonym “Tracy Giles” and the email address [email protected]. He convinced the teen to send an image that meets the Criminal Code definition of child pornography.

Members of the North Bay Police Service Criminal Investigation Section and the Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in Mississauga on February 15. Wesley has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing and police are now seeking other possible victims who may have been contacted online.

Police are asking that if anyone has had any contact with “Tracy Giles” online or knows of anyone else who may have been in contact with this profile to contact Detective Constable Jason Long at (705) 497-5586.
