Discovery to feature Ontario Northland in eight-part TV series

A lot of Canadians will start learning more about Ontario Northland beginning next month.   The transportation agency is being featured on Discovery as part of an eight-part series along with Canadian Pacific call Rocky Mountain Railroad.   Among the topics, the series will look at are railroad crews battling tough winters to keep the trains moving.   The trains include both freight and passenger service which remains available further north.

Corina Moore, the President and CEO of Ontario Northland, believes the series will increase awareness about the transportation agency and more people will earn about the impact it has on the region.   Moore adds the series will also showcase the skills of the workers at Ontario Northland and highlight the complexities of the daily operations between Cochrane and Mooseonee.   Mooseonee is the focus of the first episode which features George Ross who lives in the small community.   Ross relies on Ontario Northland to deliver firewood to customers in Moose Factory.

Another episode will look at how Ontario Northland delivers module homes to remote communities along the James Bay Coast.  Each episode is one hour long and the series airs every Monday with the premier broadcast taking place March 5th at 10 P-M.
