It’s March Break and OPP detachments in the northeast have started their distracted driving campaign.   From now until Sunday, police will be on the lookout for people talking on their cell phones or texting while driving on area highways.  However distracted driving also applies to things like adjusting your GPS unit, changing CDs on your car stereo, eating and even drinking coffee.  The fine for driving while using a hand-held communication device is $490 plus three demerit points on your license.
