But, wanting to replace West Ferris Arena is one thing, says arena committee chairman King, and figuring out how to pay for it is another. The new arena is one of quite a few capital projects that the City has identified as priorities, including the Cassellholme redevelopment. King has long said that the new arena project will cost in the neighbourhood of $30 million. Pending privately owned proposals, the City has identified land at the Omishcl Sports Complex in the south end of the city as a desired site for the new arena.
