Firefighters going door-to-door in Thibeault Terrace for fire safety campaign

For a segment of the population, having a firefighter show up at their door unannounced might be a dream come true.

But Captain of Fire Prevention & Life Safety Division Randy Vezina says that the four platoons of North Bay firefighters that will be embarking on a door-to-door fire safety campaign in Thibeault Terrace are all business.

After last week’s blaze on Cartier Street, Vezina says it is important to connect with the residents in the neighbourhood, to answer any fire prevention questions, and provide answers to address any possible safety concerns.

Vezina says the campaign begins immediately and will run until all single-dwelling homes, semi-detached, co-ops and townhouses in Thibeault Terrace have been visited by firefighters. The fire safety captain encourages residents to take advantage of the expertise of the firefighters and to ask questions about any fire-related issues.

Vezina also points out that this is not a fire code blitz. Firefighters will not look to make entry into your home unless invited, adding that it is a fire safety campaign only.
