Charges pile up for Callander man caught driving without a licence

On March 11, just after 4:00pm, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 11 in Callander.

After speaking to the driver, officers conducted an investigation into the vehicle and driver. As a result, a 45-year-old Callander man was arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to Have Insurance Card
  • Driving While Disqualified – Court Order x 2
  • Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Driving While Under Suspension x 2

The accused also registered a “Warn” on the roadside screening device, which resulted in a three-day suspension. The OPP can issue an immediate roadside driver’s license suspension to drivers who register a blood alcohol concentration within the “Warn Range” of .05 to .08.

The driver has been released on an appearance notice and summons to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on March 27.
