Update: Front Street house fire

It still remains unknown if a man died as a result of a house fire in North Bay Wednesday evening.  Fire Chief Jason Whiteley says firefighters found the body of man in the living room area on the home’s second floor with no vital signs.   Whiteley says EMS and fire crews began resuscitation efforts and then the victim was transported to hospital.   Whiteley says the fire was noticed by a passerby around 9:00pm Wednesday who saw smoke coming from the Front Street home.  That person alerted the tenant on the first floor and then the fire department was called.  The Fire Marshall’s Office and local fire officials are looking into where the fire originated and what caused it.   Whiteley has put the damage at $250,000.  He says the flames were confined to the second floor although some got into the walls and attic area.  He adds the first floor may have suffered some smoke damage.
