Open air, recreational burning is a step closer in North Bay. Council has passed the proposal at the committee stage following a report last night from fire chief Grant Love. If approved, there would be conditions like the burn device needs to be a store bought, pre-manufactured unit. Also the burning material needs to be charcoal or store bought wood. You can’t use twigs or grass from your yard but you can use bits of paper to start the fire. The cost to roll out the program will be determined when budget talks with the fire department begin.
