The inclement weather has resulted in officials cancelling school buses in the region (although elementary and secondary schools remain open).
An interesting case of school closure choice has taken place at the Education Centre. The two main campuses of Nipissing University and Canadore College are located at 100 College Drive, yet one school is closed for the day while the other is open for business.
It is nearing exam time for both institutions and the semester has already been condensed for Canadore students who missed weeks of class time during a lengthy faculty strike in the fall.
The campuses have closed in the past due to icy conditions on the winding College Drive or steep Highway 11 northbound access points.
Please note that we are closed today.
Due to the extreme weather in our area our Campuses will be closed effective immediately.
