Those are two artistically-gifted Honorary Survivors.
Doug Bies shared his experiences with cancer before performing a stand-up comedy set and Verdon Vaillancourt played the tunes at the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life launch at Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen, Wednesday.
Bies was handed the baton as the Relay for Life Honorary Cancer Survivor from Vaillancourt, who had the honour last year.
Bies lost his wife of 25 years to brain cancer and has himself battled both testicular and rectal cancer.
Relay for Life will take place June 22 at 22 Wing.
