Laughter takes the stage in the fight to cure cancer

The goal of the North Bay Comedy to Cure Cancer event is to raise at least $3,000 to assist the fight to cure the terrible disease.

The lineup for the June 14 show is shaping up. Organizers are in discussions with an award-winning comic and hope to finalize details later this week. She would be the featured act, slated to follow a string of local comedians involved with Stand Up Comedy North Bay, including host Andre Raymond, honourary headliner Doug Bies, lead act Eric Bowman and rookie Dave Dale.

Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 per person in advance and are available beginning this morning. All proceeds go to the North Bay Relay for Life Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser being held at CFB North Bay on June 22.

Before the comedy show starts at 8:00pm, Verdon Vaillancourt, the 2017 Relay for Life Honourary Cancer Survivor, will provide musical entertainment once the doors open at 7:00pm. Bies is this year’s Survivor. The Davedi Club will be hosting a cash bar for this event with last call at 11:00pm.

Contact Dave Dale at 705.498.2050 or Doug Bies at 705.303.3315 for tickets and sponsorship inquiries. Tickets can also be purchased at the Davedi Club or Canadian Cancer Society North Bay office at 176 Lakeshore Dr. (in the refurbished former Tweedsmuir Elementary School near the Gertrude Street intersection).
