Aircraft maintenance students from Canadore soar above provincial competition

For the second straight year, Canadore College School of Aviation students returned triumphant from the Skills Ontario Competition.

James Vincent and Xavier Mainville won gold and silver, respectively, in the Post-Secondary Aircraft Maintenance competition.

Held this week at the Toronto Congress Centre, the Skills Ontario Competition is the precursor to the Skills Canada National Competition, from June 3-6 in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Skills Ontario Competition is Canada’s largest skilled trade and technology competition and offers a unique opportunity for top students to demonstrate that they are the best of the best in their field. Over 1,900 students vie each year for medals in 67 disciplines.

Congratulations to James and Xavier and a shout-out to coaches Kori Ibey and Ken Irvine as well.
