North Bay council set the stage at its Monday meeting for a possible future subdivision in the Lakeshore Drive and Birches Road area. Twenty pieces of land made up of two large tracts and 18 smaller lots were re-designated. One parcel of land is known as the Rota property and about 10 years ago was the site of a proposed race track which never materialized. The other parcel is called the Gap property and that land was the subject of an Official Plan amendment. The re-designations only pave the way for a subdivision. Applications proposing residences would still have to be approved by city council.
