Waste not, want not?

Local RV enthusiast Adrien Foisy has been a frequent visitor to North Bay City Council meetings as he tries to convince Council that there is little expense to adding an RV dumping station.

Foisy appeared again Tuesday toward the end of the Council meeting, trying to catch the attention of staffers as they headed to an in camera meeting.

Foisy then ranted about his frustrations about the entire situation in front of the local media. When he finished, Foisy appeared to be somewhat flushed but Mayor Al McDonald asked if Foisy could chat with him following the meeting.

Foisy claims that the cost would be around $100 as most of the necessary equipment already exists at a property at the east end of downtown near the ONR. He has been told repeatedly by Council and City staff that the process would be more cost-prohibitive because it would have to go through the tender process.

RV enthusiast Foisy has been wondering why there has been no replacement for the former waste dumping facility that had been available at the now-sold lands where the Chamber of Commerce once called home. The facility has been closed since 2015.

In previous visits to City Hall, Foisy told the mayor and city councillors that he would continue to make his case until something is done about the situation. He says that he had to drive to Sturgeon Falls after the summer season to dump.
