The North Bay chamber of commerce is giving its Mattawa counterpart a helping hand. The Mattawa chamber has no staff and all the work is being carried out by volunteer business people who are close to burning out. However staff from the North Bay chamber are now helping the business group to the east with some programs. The goal is to give Mattawa time to get more volunteers on its board. To offset staff expenses, the North Bay chamber will receive the membership dues from Mattawa businesses. The North Bay chamber stresses it’s not taking over the Mattawa group.
