Vic Fedeli, the P.C. MPP for Nipissing, says the Wynne Liberals talk a good talk when it comes to the Ring of Fire but that’s all it is – talk! Fedeli says none of the mining companies are exploring by the James Bay site because there’s no way to get the chromite out of the area. The Liberals still haven’t decided if rail or a roadway is the best way to transport the ore to smelters. Fedeli says there’s no question that a rail line should be built to the Ring of Fire site and that the ONTC should haul out the ore. Fedeli paid his fourth visit to the Ring of Fire last Thursday and says there’s virtually no progress on developing the area. In fact Fedeli says one of the major mines at the site is slashing spending at the Ring of Fire this year. And the reduced mining activity is causing layoffs.
