East Ferris Mayor Bill Vrebosch may have to wait a while longer before he sees traffic lights at Corbeil Corners.
Vrebosch told Moose News he’s asked the Ministry of Transportation to install lights at the intersection of Highway 17 and 94 to make the spot safer.
He said the response in the past has been the MTO is securing property.
Moose News asked the MTO for an interview to address Vrebosch’s concerns.
Gordan Rennie, the ministry’s regional issues and media advisor said although no one was available for an interview, the MTO did have a written update.
The update explains that the ministry is in the process of securing remaining property in addition to getting environmental clearance for the project.
It adds once these are done then the contract tendering and construction timelines can be finalized.
