Giroux says Fedeli has become desperate in Nipissing campaign

Nipissing NDP candidate Henri Giroux says Tory incumbent Vic Fedeli has resorted to fear tactics in the local campaign.

Giroux’s comments follow a claim by Fedeli that the NDP position to phase out nuclear power would also mean the loss of jobs in North Bay with businesses that supply the industry.

Fedeli made the comment at the former Arclin plant site on Wednesday.

Giroux says Fedeli has become desperate by “putting a bug in people’s ears that we’re going to cost jobs”.

“But what we’re hearing at the doors is people telling us they’re voting NDP because they don’t trust Doug Ford,” Giroux said.

“I think he’s using attacks on the NDP to get people on his side.  He is trying to scare people into not voting for the NDP”.

Giroux says this is nothing but a ploy to distract people from the fact the Tories have not costed out their promises.

Giroux believes the race between both men for the MPP’s seat is very tight and adds Fedeli knows this.

“I don’t think he’s ever been in a tight race as now,” he said.
