Unwanted drugs can be dropped off later this month at Shoppers Cassells location

If you have a variety of old prescriptions and don’t know what to do with them, Shoppers Drug Mart on Cassells has the solution.

On June 26th the drug store is again holding its Medication Drug Drop-off Day where people can bring their unwanted medication to the outlet.

Shoppers will accept expired prescription drugs, medicine you no longer need, over-the-counter-medication, herbal supplements and even old vitamins.

The goal is to make sure the medications aren’t thrown out and wind up at the landfill or are flushed down a toilet.

Once it’s collected all the medication, the drug store will dispose the drugs in a safe way.

Shoppers carries out the annual drive with several partners including the North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit and local police.

Another partner is the North Bay and Area Drug Strategy Committee.

This is the sixth year for the drug drop-off event and medications can be dropped off from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
