The OPP is reporting a two-vehicle crash resulting in serious injury east of Mattawa that occurred before 5:00pm today.
A section of Highway 17 between Burritts Road and Klocks Road, approximately 11 kilometres east of Mattawa, remains closed and will be for some time, according to police.
The OPP says there are no detours available at this time while investigators collect evidence at the scene.
Emily Womacc forwarded the above image to the Moose FM Facebook page, showing how far the traffic was lined up on Highway 17 as the sun was setting on Monday. Her vehicle is on the east side of the highway closure and she says they have been waiting since approximately 8:00pm.
