Two stabbed in weekend incident

A 26-year-old North Bay man has been charged with several offences after police say he stabbed two people in the parking lot of a nightclub early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a call of a fight in progress. It is alleged that the accused and two male victims had a verbal argument in a parking lot. The accused and one of the victims engaged in a fight at which time the accused brandished a knife stabbing the victim with the weapon.

The other victim intervened to break up the altercation and the accused stabbed the second victim. The injuries to both victims necessitated medical attention. The injuries are not life-threatening.

As a result of the investigation, the 26-year-old North Bay man is charged with:

  • One count of Aggravated Assault
  • Two counts of Assault with a Weapon
  • One count of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace

Police located the accused who was arrested and held in custody. He will appear in court in North Bay for a bail hearing.
