Nipissing First Nation will be busy over the next three days.
The reserve is the site for the annual All Ontario Chiefs’ Conference which is underway.
Delegates will discuss a variety of issues including sustainable funding for mental wellness development, sexual violence and exploitation on First Nations and prescription opiate use.
This year’s conference also sees an election for the Ontario Regional Chief’s position which is scheduled for Wednesday.
The three day conference will also honour Patrick Madahbee who has chosen not to seek re-election as Grand Council Chief.
