Free community event at Discovery Museum to open ‘Main Street, North Bay’ exhibit

Discovery North Bay Museum will open its newest exhibit, “Main Street, North Bay,” Wednesday at 4:00pm.

The public is invited to step back in time onto the streets of North Bay during the 1920s during the official opening of “Main Street, North Bay.” This immersive exhibit profiles a variety of local businesses and community institutions. The opening will be an opportunity to meet the curators and exhibit contributors (including store owners and family members) while viewing the exhibit and enjoying light refreshments.

In an effort to make museum admission more accessible, the museum has also lowered admission rates. Adult admission has been lowered to $6 senior/student admission has been lowered to $5, and a $20 family pass has been introduced (all prices now include HST).

The museum will also be unveiling a new logo and branding during this free community event. Discovery North Bay Museum has undergone extensive exhibit redevelopment over the past few years and will be unveiling new branding developed to reflect new exhibit content.

The development of the display was possible due to funding from the Canadian Cultural Spaces Fund, which matched museum fundraising for the project.
