King seeks a return to the building

Making his mark on civic affairs during his first term on city council has convinced Mark King to throw his hat in the ring once again for councillor in the October 22 municipal election.

King’s role as Chair of DNSSAB (District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board) has provided hands-on insight into structural welfare, employment, mental health and addictions issues facing North Bay.

King says it is not the role of politicians to create jobs. One of the most important roles as city councillors, he adds, is to identify the expertise available in our community, and to work with partners on strategies that can grow our local economy and create more employment opportunities.

“This city needs to be run more like a business,” says King, “Our growth needs to target a return on investment for city taxpayers, and city council needs to build strong community partnerships to make North Bay the best it can be.”
