Drive continues to raise money for SPCA destroyed by fire

A Go Fund Me page to help an SPCA in Western Quebec continues to raise money after fire destroyed the facility earlier this month and killed about 70 animals.

Liam Cullin, the executive director of the North Bay and District Humane Society, is hoping the account can raise $2,000 by the end of this week.

So far members of the public have donated $415 to the cause plus $1,000 from the North Bay chapter.

The local humane society has an interest in the Gatineau, Quebec SPCA because a few weeks before the fire, it sent the facility 15 cats and 10 dogs to be adopted.

Cullin says the North Bay society still doesn’t know if the local cats and dogs were among the animals that died or ended up with new families.
