The North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation can add more money to its Cancer Care, Close to Home campaign this weekend as it gets help from Powassan and its Biker Fest.
The community is holding its Ride Around the Lake for Cancer’s Sake, an event that will see motorcyclists drive 250 kilometres around Lake Nipissing and finish at the Trout Creek Community Centre.
The event is one of many taking place over the next while as the hospital foundation tries to raise $6 million for medical equipment to improve cancer care at the hospital.
The motorcyclists start their journey at the North Bay hospital’s number 10 parking lot at 1:40pm Saturday.
