North Bay Police face two domestic assaults

North Bay Police have charged two men in separate cases of domestic assault.

The first assault took place Thursday morning when a man forced his way into his former partner’s home in the Algonquin area.

The woman asked the ex to leave but instead he assaulted her before leaving.

The woman called 911 to report the incident and also mentioned it was the second time she’d been assaulted.

Police didn’t have to go looking for the man because he later showed up at headquarters to turn himself in.

The 25-year-old is charged with assault as well as break, enter and assault.

The second domestic dispute occurred around 9:00pm Thursday in the Cassells area when a woman returned home to find her boyfriend sleeping there.

When she woke him up, she was assaulted.

He left when asked to do so but came back a short time later and hit the woman again, this time with a kitchen pot.

The woman called police following the second assault and police found and arrested a 28-year-old man.

He’s looking at charges of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.
