Laurentian Ski Hill to host a family-friendly fundraising concert

Laurentian Ski Hill is offering up a unique locale for a concert on Saturday, September 15 with its Music on the Slopes concert.

“It’s an outdoor music festival for the whole family, featuring local bands, set at the top of the hill with a magnificent view of the city and Lake Nipissing sunset as a backdrop,” said Cam Graham, Laurentian Ski Hill Snowboarding Club general manager.

The concert will open at 3:00pm with music aimed especially for kids, followed by three local classic rock bands including Paul Pruneau & the Journeymen, Wills and Waxxie, and the Brian Risk Band.

The event includes a fully licenced beer tent area with BBQ by the Laurentian Café.

“Bring your lawn chair or blanket and find a spot on the hill to enjoy the tunes and catch the sunset,” added Graham.
The concert is a fundraiser for Laurentian Ski Hill and ticket are $10 per person. Kids five and under are free. The concert runs from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. In the event of bad weather, the concert will be rescheduled for the next day, Sunday, September 16.

The event is presented by Farquhar Chrysler and Farquhar Action with support from Ontario Northland and the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority.

Tickets are available at Gateway Signs, U-Need-a-Cab, Laurentian Ski Hill, North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority or payable at the hill upon entrance to the concert. The entrance to the concert will be at 15 Janey Avenue, at the top of the hill.
