City Council has approved North Bay’s new Para Bus operators following a bidding process.
The contract was awarded to Voyago Transit at Tuesday night’s regular meeting. Voyago Transit transports 33,000 people across the province each day.
The agreement spans five years and includes both drivers and dispatchers for the Para Bus service.

The City is bound by provincial legislation to offer equal services for transit users with disabilities and a temporary agreement had been reached with local company Stock Transportation to continue the service once the Physically Handicapped Adults’ Rehabilitation Association’s contract with the City of North Bay lapsed.
PHARA announced it would terminate its contract with the City of North Bay in April, bringing to an end the agreement in which PHARA employees operated the accessible bus service within North Bay. The City owns, funds, and maintains the Para Buses.
