North Bay Police have laid charges in two separate child porn cases

North Bay Police have charged a local man with three child pornography related offenses thanks to help from police in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Sault police became aware of online child pornography activity with a North Bay connection and tipped off their Gateway City counterparts.

Then with help from Sudbury’s cyber-crime unit, police raided a home in North Bay this past Wednesday and arrested a 35-year-old man.

He’s charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child porn and making child pornography available.

The raid also saw police seize several devices which will now be examined for possible evidence.

In the second incident, an Espanola man is looking at charges of possession of child porn and distribution of child pornography.

North Bay police say this case involves them getting a complaint from a man who received child porn images on his social media app.

Police were able to trace the distribution back to an Espanola resident who was arrested and charged.

The investigation into this case began in June of this year.
