OPP’s Thanksgiving calls include one head-on on Highway 17

Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 96 calls for service including:

  • 23 traffic complaints
  • 10 motor vehicle collisions
  • 3 suspended drivers charged
  • 1 bench warrant arrest/execution

Included in those calls was a North Bay OPP response to a head-on collision (see pictured) between a passenger car and pickup truck which resulted in non-life threatening injuries to both drivers. Just before 7:00pm on Friday, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, between Gormanville Road and Algonquin Avenue.  The collision remains under investigation by the OPP and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
