NBMCA starting to close seasonal amenities

As we move further into fall, the North Bay – Mattawa Conservation Authority has begun to close some of the amenities at its conservation areas.

The agency has closed its washrooms at Mattawa Island while the docks have been removed from Papineau Lake and will be re-installed next spring.

The gates and washrooms at the Eau Claire Gorge by Mattawa, will close at the end of the month.

At Elks Beach, the washrooms are closed and the gates will close once the snow is here to stay.

It’s the same story for the LaVase Portages Conservation Area; the gates will close once the snow arrives.

As for the Kate Pace Way and Kinsmen Trail they don’t formally close.

However the NBMCA says there is no snow removal or maintenance at either site over the winter.
