The commute last Friday for drivers on Highway 17, west of North Bay was brought to a standstill by a collision near Trap and Skeet Road in Nipissing First Nation.
Highway 17 was closed for approximately half an hour while officers utilized the OPP Unmanned Aerial System (UAS or drone) to assist with the investigation. The UAS was used to map out the area as well as take photos of the area and vehicle.
Just before 4:00pm, the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle had rolled over and the driver had been ejected from the vehicle. The driver was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
