Some new and some seasoned trustees elected for Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord

Two new and four returning trustees will make up the board for the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN), following the municipal election.

The six trustees will begin four-year terms on December 1. The CSCFN says it would like to congratulate and thank all candidates who ran in the school board elections this year.

Diane Corriveau was re-elected in the region of Mattawa-East Ferris. In the North Bay area, Nicole Fournier and Roland Rochon were also re-elected. In West Nipissing, four candidates ran for three positions. Two new trustees, Marc Allard and Michel Roberge, were elected. Roch Pilon was re-elected for an additional term.

The CSCFN would like to thank Gisèle Landriault and Julie Courchesne for their numerous contributions over the years as trustees for the West Nipissing region. Monique Ménard, Director of Education, honours those who will be leaving. “This is a bittersweet moment. I would like to sincerely thank my two colleagues who have shown great devotion to ensure high-quality French-language Catholic education for our youth.”

Ménard also welcomes the new members. “I am happy to offer a warm welcome to our two new trustees. With the experience of those who are returning and the new ideas of those who are joining us, I am confident that together, we will continue to progress and be innovative for the well-being and success of all students. The tradition of excellence will continue.”

Chair and vice-chair elections will be held on December 4, during the inaugural meeting.

A trustee represents the interests of his or her constituents in all educational matters and can influence the strategic direction of the school board. For more information on the role of a trustee, click here.
