In Nipissing District, the Monthly Jobs Report revealed a considerable drop in job postings, down to 576 from 630 in August, a drop of 8.6 per cent.
Despite the month-to-month drop, those 576 job postings are up significantly, some 19.7 per cent, over the current four-year September average of 481.
In September, 222 unique employers posted jobs, down 25 from the 247 reported in August.
The top five employers posting jobs was topped by Zedd Customer Solutions, followed by Plan A Health Care, and in fifth, Hands The Family Health Network.
The top industry hiring was Administrative and Support, Waste Management, and Remediation Services, making up 24.8 per cent of all job postings.
Of those 142 postings, there were 121 openings for call centre agents.
Health Care and Social Assistance and Retail round out the top three industries hiring in September.
