Members of the public were denied entry to North Bay City Hall this afternoon as North Bay Police conducted a search inside.
Two officers stationed outside the main doors of the building explained the situation to citizens looking to gain entry. Staff were able to come and go throughout the incident. The officers would not give any comment other than to say they were following orders. Neither officer would confirm nor deny if there was a threat to public safety.
Activity has returned somewhat to normal. Those forced to wait outside City Hall are now being allowed in after standing on line and presenting photo identification.
We will update this story as more details become available.
