NBPS: Threat led to City Hall security measures Friday

An incident Friday afternoon that saw access restricted to the public and police officers stationed at the main doors of North Bay City Hall was the result of a threat to someone inside the building.

North Bay Police Service Special Constable John Schultz said in a statement, “There was information received that was perceived to be threatening in nature toward someone,” at City Hall.

The NBPS Community Safety Coordinator adds, “As a precautionary measure access was controlled. The investigation identified the origin of the information and it was determined that there was not a safety issue involved in this situation and access returned to normal.”
