It may not come as a surprise to some, but the number of job postings in Nipissing District during November was down significantly from October.
November saw employers post 444 vacancies.
That’s a nearly 23 percent drop in October when a whopping 576 job postings went up in the district.
The Labour Market Group compiled the figures and notes last October’s figures were way above the four-year average of normal October postings.
In fact, the most recent October rate was 8.7 percent higher than past October averages meaning that once rates returned to a normal average, any drop was going to be exaggerated.
Among the top five employers in Nipissing looking for workers, Statistics Canada led the charge with 35 vacancies.
Metal Fab wasn’t too far behind with 25 job postings.
Plan A Health Care Staffing Solutions and Zedd Customer Solutions each had 20 job openings at their respective operations while Canada Post made the list of top five when it posted openings for nine positions.
