Near North school board chair says expect a lot of change

The chair of the Near North District School Board, Jay Aspin, says the public can expect “significant reformation” this term as the board tries to regain its reputation and trust.

Aspin says the new board has many challenges in the short term including secondary programming and multi-year planning.

He adds another challenge is the elementary and secondary school accommodation process while also waiting for the Ombudsman’s report on the ARC process undertaken by the previous board.

Aspin says the challenges can be overcome as long as everyone works together as a team.

He says the results will be worth it because the end product will be the best education the board can possibly provide to its students.

The new chair says with that in mind this board is rolling up its sleeves and hitting the ground running.
