Sex-ed curriculum survey leads to backlash against Ford Government; New impaired driving rules take effect today

Ontarians not responding well to sex-ed changes in online consultation

Doug Ford may not be getting the response he was looking for over the sex-ed curriculum.
According to reports, many Ontarians expressed anger and frustration on an online consultation which ran from August to December. Respondents were upset over the Ford Government’s decision to axe a Liberal-created modernized curriculum. Ford felt parents had not been consulted with properly by the Liberals.

New roadside testing rules for impaired drivers are now in effect

Just in time for Christmas, Ottawa is rolling out new drunk driving laws.
The new legislation, which takes effect today, allows police to demand a breath test from a driver who has been legally pulled over for any reason. The change is meant to help police catch more impaired drivers, but critics believe it will just lead to more racial profiling.

Months after Doug Ford introduced buck-a-beer, only Cool Brewery in Toronto is still offering its product at that price. The only two other companies offering dollar beers, which includes President’s Choice, recently raised the price tag above the buck threshold.
