North Bay City Council did some doubling down of their own.
Following an 8-3 vote in favour of proceeding with the casino development last Wednesday at a special meeting, Mark King gave notice of reconsideration of the decision.
This time around, Council would vote “yes” or “no.” A yes vote was for reconsideration (or against the casino) and a no vote was pro-casino.
Council voted 8-3 no, with no votes switching sides.
Ten public presentations, all against the casino, were made at City Hall on Tuesday.
