The process has been streamlined and there is less than a week to go to file Celebrate Ontario applications.
The provincial government says the administrative burden on community partners and organizations has been noted and it has reduced red tape to make the application process easier for organizers to apply for funding.
Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says applications for Celebrate Ontario 2019 are being accepted until January 9.

Celebrate Ontario supports “programming improvements at new and existing festivals and events that attract tourists for longer stays, create great experiences for visitors and support communities across Ontario…Existing events that feature programming improvements, and new events requiring programming support may be eligible for funding.”
“Festivals and events drive tourism, support tens of thousands of jobs in Ontario and generate millions of dollars in revenue. They are made even better with the support of Celebrate Ontario, which enhances the tourist experience, and gives everyone a great reason to discover Ontario,” said Michael Tibollo, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
“Tourism is a key contributor to our local economy, and we have many great events that draw thousands of visitors to Nipissing each year,” said Fedeli.
