The outdoor space at the Powassan Fairgrounds will be transformed into an area for family and friends to partake in some wintertime fun.
The Powassan Agricultural Society is hosting a Free Family Fun Day this Saturday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Fairgrounds, 55 Fair View Lane.
The event is free and organizers ask you to bring along your own gear, props, mugs, family, friends and neighbours to enjoy the winter fun.
You can build and dress your own snowman and have a go at the snowball toss.
There will be tobogganing and tubing on the prepped hills.
In between activities, you are invited to warm up by the bonfire/warming station while you relax with a warm cup of free hot chocolate, and a free freshly baked cookie.
Community partners such as the Wasi Ski Club and the South Shore Restoule Snowmobile Club will both have stations set up with demos and plenty of good information about ways you and your family may become more active in outdoors for the 2019 Winter season.
- This is an outdoor activity – please load your sleighs with all the appropriate essentials including a mug, kleenex, and your snowman’s outfit. We suggest dressing in layers.
- There will be old-fashioned, unheated outhouses on site.
- Remember to be kind and thoughtful — little friendly competition goes along with that in mind.
- No sponsorship or funds were received to host this event, it’s all about us giving back to our wonderful community!

ABOUT: The Powassan Agricultural Society is a registered charity that originally came together 124 years ago to provide a hub for the rural agricultural peoples. The Powassan Agricultural Society today owns the 6.6 acres of land around and including the Thompson building aka “the big red barn” and as such, hopes to provide more year-round opportunities for the community and its members to come together that stretch beyond the Fall Fair capacity.
